Brock Family Memorial Scholarship

The Brock Family Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of Daryel Brock and Roger Brock of Barry County.  Daryel dedicated his career to improving environmental health across the state. From his early days as a Sanitarian to serving as Bureau Chief for Environmental Regulation & Licensure at the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services, Daryel helped shape the state’s onsite wastewater requirements. In 1996, he was honored with the Governor’s Award for his impactful contributions. Although not a board member of MSO, Daryel actively collaborated with MSO to promote installer education and helped lay the groundwork for many of our current programs. In 2009, Daryel passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of service and a strong belief in the power of education. 

Roger Brock, son of Daryel Brock, is also recognized for his work in the onsite wastewater industry of Southwest Missouri.  Roger was a life-long resident who dedicated his entire 30-year career to Public Health.  He followed in his father’s footsteps and took on the role of Administrator with Barry County Health Department.  He was well respected around Southwest Missouri for his depth of knowledge of onsite wastewater, and environmental health.  Outside of public health Roger was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He also volunteered his time coaching area youth in his favorite sport, baseball. He loved his family and friends and would help anyone out when he could. He was especially proud of his dad Daryel Brock’s legacy in Environmental Health in Missouri.  In April of 2026, he passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He would be extremely proud to be included alongside Daryel in this Memorial Fund.

The Scholarship is dedicated to supporting children, dependents, nieces, nephews or grandchildren of active MSO members. Eligible students must be:

• Enrolled in a degree program at an accredited educational institution.
• Using the funds for tuition, required fees, course-related supplies, or equipment.
• Applicant must request application via written request (email or mail) and submit the application by March 15, 2026.

Scholarship deadline has passed for 2026.  Applications for 2027 will come out in December 2026.
